Organic mango sorbet: what USDA Organic means on our pack
Organic Mango sorbet is mostly mango, and USDA certified organic. What the seal means, who certified it, and which three Austropical flavors carry it.
Organic Mango is one of three flavors in our range that carries the USDA Organic seal. It is also one of the first two flavors planned for US retail in March 2027. This post explains what is in it, what the seal means, who checked, and how to look it up yourself.
What is in organic mango sorbet?
The ingredient list: Organic Mango (60%), Filtered Water, Organic Cane Sugar, Stabilizers (Citrus Fiber, Guar Gum, Locust Bean Gum).
Four lines. Mango is first, and most of what is in the pint. Cane sugar is the sweetener. The stabilizers are citrus fiber, guar gum and locust bean gum, and they are what keep the sorbet smooth after freezing. No color is added and no flavor is added. The gold color is the fruit's.

Mango is a tropical tree fruit. It was first grown in South Asia and is now grown across the tropics, including Brazil. Our mango sorbet is made in northern Brazil, in the Amazon.
What does USDA Organic mean?
USDA Organic is the federal organic standard in the United States. It is run by the USDA National Organic Program. Products that carry the seal come from certified operations, and every certified operation is listed in a public database, the USDA Organic Integrity Database. Anyone can search it.

To check it yourself, go to organic.ams.usda.gov/integrity and search for operation 3950001101. The certification has no expiry date. It stays in force until it is surrendered, suspended or revoked.
Where is it made?
In the Brazilian Amazon, in a facility that is a USDA NOP certified organic operation and FSSC 22000 certified. The sorbet is pasteurized before it is frozen.
Which Austropical flavors are organic?
Three: Organic Açaí Original Sensation, Organic Mango and Organic Coconut. "Organic" is part of the name on these three, and on no others. The other seven flavors are not certified organic, and we do not describe them as organic.
Is organic mango sorbet vegan?
Yes. Organic Mango is certified vegan (Vegan Australia) in pints, Grab'n Go cups and buckets, and it is kosher (Kosher Australia). It is a sorbet: fruit, water and sugar, plus the stabilizers listed above.
